Colors for antique metal shingles

Over the years, I have wisely learned to present the choices, leaving the selection to the owner.....who will see his/her color every day.

Also noted are custom colors, since we offer almost any selection.

Stamped tin shingle owners fall into two categories. First are the traditionalists. These historical buffs prefer to restore with original colors. In the case of old shingle roof owners, the color is grey. Usually the shade is a medium grey or darker slate grey. Just checking the back side of the shingle confirms the tint.

Second are the decor-thinking individuals. Popular choices lean toward reds and greens. Then come the blacks and dark green preferences, usually in Virginia.

But owners cannot be limited to the above to categories; one owner asked us to match the roof to their dog's hair. Another family in a National Register home in Maryland requested a brown to match the rust because that tint meant home-sweet-home.

Then there was the lady who wanted to make a statement on her street about her new status.
